In many ways the way we interact with the world around us is shaped by stories, both those we are told and those we tell ourselves. So what stories have you heard about Africa? For a long time Africa’s story was written for us by people who told themselves they deserved supremacy over the continent and its people. At Afrika Moja we believe it's time for Africa to write it's own story. Even framing and telling one’s own narrative is an empowering act, and one that we celebrate. By giving the youth a platform to tell their stories we aim to yield the limelight to the voices of the future. And in the process perhaps we’ll also show Africa as it is: a continent so complex and diverse that to try and define it would be a monumental task so we’ll take it one story at a time.
